What Would Your School Do With $900,000 in Savings?
Harpeth Hall School replaced unpredictable premiums with a data-driven self-funded model - and turned six years of healthcare savings into expanded benefits their faculty actually love.
The Challenge
Like many schools, Harpeth Hall faced a familiar trap: premiums climbing year after year, high maternity claims straining the budget, and staff left navigating a healthcare system without guidance. The fully-insured model offered no visibility, no control, and no end in sight. Leadership needed a partner who could turn that uncertainty into a strategy - before the cost burden shifted to employees.
Our Approach
Borislow moved Harpeth Hall off the fully-insured treadmill and onto the Captivated Health self-funded model - a transparent, data-driven structure that put the school in control of its own healthcare spend. We layered in stop-loss protection, bundled a maternity contract with Vanderbilt Health, added a $20K IVF/adoption benefit funded by surplus savings, and deployed Rightway navigation tools that alone are estimated to save $150,000 annually. The result: six consecutive years of cost predictability, a 2025 premium holiday, and zero paycheck contribution increases for enrolled employees.
Captivated Health helped us control costs in a way we never thought possible, and reinvest in benefits our faculty truly value.
